Summary

Magic is a miracle, violating your logical mind.

        The reason I chose this topic is because that I was in magic club in senior high school and now in NTU. Most important of all, magic is my true love!

        Why is this important?

        To me, I can rearrange what I have learned, and furthermore, the wonder and opportunities to perform in English class makes me practice and enhances my magic skills.

        To you, I hope you can be entertained, feeling eased and relaxed while visiting my blog, but also learned a brief contour of the magic world. If possible, maybe you’ll find out magic as your interest, too.

        I have posted nine post since October. The first four blog I introduced three kind of performances, stage, party and closed-up. The next two post I introduced two modern magician, Dani Daortiz and Dan & Dave. Both of them are world-famous. Then, I plugged in a blog outside my topic, guangzhou. It was very fun! The last two post I introduced TMA and the story between me and magic.

        I learn a lot through this assignment!

        Not only in the four skill of English, listening, speaking, reading and writing, but also the ability to perform magic in English! I think this is very important. In the future, I might have a foreigner as my audience or I may be invited to other countries to perform. This is truly a great opportunity for me to practice. 

Magic and I

        Magic has always been my favorite entertainment. In retrospect, I can still vividly reminisce the memory of which I first encountered magic. Upon seeing it, I was instantaneously infatuated with the sophisticated flourish of playing card. Every movement was so attractive and I can’t wait to give it a try.

        There is a little story of my begin with magic. I met the magic club in the club exhibition. I was deeply astonish by two magic “clip shift” and “crazy man's handcuffs(狂人手銬)”. The club seniors said that ”Join the magic club and I’ll teach you.”(And these two are now my favorites!) Then I join the club without hesitation. That the beginning of me and the magic.

        As a vice director of magic club, I did not only learned how to interact with people but also how to deal with things. But let me skip it, cause it’s not the main of my topic. I have many opportunities to perform on stages through the magic club. All of the experience was unique. I also went to contest and won the third prize among all the high school students(and earn 4000NT!).

        Every time when I perform, I enjoy the smile and the shock on the face of my audience. I like to make people feel happy and be entertained. Magic gives me confident and courage to do or talk on the stage. It makes me brave.  

        Magic truly affect me a lot, and I enjoy in it. I was glad that I found something I like in my life! That’s all the story of my life with magic.

Taiwan Magic development Association

Taiwan Magic development Association(台灣魔術發展協會) is the biggest magic group in Taiwan. TMA was established in 2003 by a small group of people with lots of passion in magic. At that time, magic is still a brand-new area in art. With the endeavor of TMA, magic was greatly developed these years.

TMA will also hold the largest magic convention in Taiwan called “TMA” every year around May. This is a well-known magic convention. They will invite famous magician from every country as guests. The convention is a three day event, including

All of them were wonderful, you won’t close your eyes every second.

Every new year, I would take 4000 from my red envelope at first just for the event. It’s really worthwhile. You will attend every year after you attend the first time (no exaggeration!)

Last year, I was a staff of TMA2013, so I don’t have to pay any money for this :P

These two year, they also held an event called ”Muse”. This year is in December 21. It only cost 450 which is verrrrrrry cheap! If you are free at 12/21, I strongly recommend you to attend this. You will be astonished by all the magic performance!

My trip to Guangzhou

I just shared a little things in the class, so I’m going to introduce more through this blog haha.

I gain a lot from the activity, and I would like to share something inspiring with you guys. The story from different province is totally different, but all the story was amazing at all!

I went to Guangzhou(廣州) with my classmates from the department of physics. We went to Guangzhou from November twentieth to twenty-fourth. It was a five day trip. We went there to attend 芙蘭 physics holiday host by Guangzhou Sun Yat-Sen University.

The holiday has a series of activities. The event we attended is call 海峽兩岸科技文化交流. All the participant are from department of physics and from different province in china.

The most special one is from 東北黑龍江-吉林大學. They have to take 48 hour train to arrive Guangzhou. That’s was amazing!

How was Guangzhou? Their latitude is lower than us. The weather was great. But the public security was not that good. Many people are wandering around doing nothing, but the students their said that those people just look bad but they seldom does bad things now. The environment was dirty. People throw trashes on the sidewalks.

        After the trip, most people(almost everyone)asked me that ”How was the girl in Guangzhou?” Frankly speaking, girls in Taiwan are much better(true!)

        The student’s in china study verrrrry hard! Their school schedule in high school was from seven a.m. to ten p.m. (no Exaggeration!) It truly surprise me! I introspect myself, what am I doing? I think this was the most valuable thing I learn from the trip.

        By the way, the trip is free!

Modern magician － Dan and Dave

   I'm going to introduce two magician this week – Dan and Dave.

  They are twin brothers, both are magicians, passionate in magic and cardistry(花切). They were my idol while I was in senior high school! There magic and performance fascinated me!

This is all the performance of their DVD "Trilogy"

It's a little bit long, so you can just pick a few magic on your interest. 

  Nowadays, Dan and Dave are not only for the twin brothers. They make a company also called “Dan and Dave” base on magic. The company is in a small group of team with many magicians. They put out some DVD once a while(with magic and cardistry).

 And they also sell their own playing card. The DD has been voted as the best card for cardistry! There playing cards are cool in every card especially in Jokers and Aces. Their first version of playing card “smoke and mirror” is very expensive now!

Modern Magician － Dani DaOrtiz

This week, I’m going to introduce a well-known modern magician, Dani DaOrtiz.

His most famous magic” Open Triumph” which I shared two weeks ago was incredible!

Dani DaOrtiz is a Spanish, major in closed-up. He is GOD!

He is guest in all big magic conventions. He is funny. He always“DALADALADADADA” when he is shuffling the card. This is his unique feature.

He is friends with many great magicians. You guys may not know, all of the audience in his video are celebrated magicians. But! I can swear that no trick is colluded in advance.

This week, I’m going to introduce the sponge ball and the coin.

Sponge ball is cool and interesting! But my performance still need more practice. 

Coin is a classic item and it's necessity in our life. Coin is not my major, but I still know some easy tricks to perform. Coin takes a lot practice to be an expert, that’s why I’m not major in it haha.

Usually, we use US half dollar to do the magic because it's bigger.
